How To Install The Mac App On Managed Endpoints

This article walks you through how to install the IT Agent app on Mac clients that you manage.

Installation

After downloading the .PKG package for the sender, double click on the file to start the software installation. After completing the package installer, the Sender service will automatically start and an icon will appear in the System Status Menu on the upper right corner of the screen.

Remote Access Permissions

Before initiating a remote access connection to the sender, specific permissions must be manually added that allows for screen recording and system control.

Add the “Screen & System Audio Recording” Permission

  • Open SettingsPrivacy and SecurityScreen & System Audio Recording

  • In the section Screen & System Audio Recording click on the plus (+) button.

  • Open the Applications directory, select ITAgentRMMSender and then press Open

Add the Accessibility Permission

  • Open SettingsPrivacy and SecurityAccessibility

  • In the section Accessibility click on the plus (+) button.

  • Open the Applications directory, select ITAgentRMMSender and then press Open

Uninstalling the Application

Attempting to uninstall the IT Agent RMM Sender by dragging it to the Trash will fail due to the service running the background. For convenience, a script is provided that will stop the service, remove the Sender application and cleanup any other configuration and log files.

When the application is installed, an uninstall script is placed in the following location that will remove the application and cleanup any other configuration and log files.

To run this script, open a terminal and run the following command
